Samuel L. Morgan, M.A., Principal, Children’s Learning Center
Sam Morgan brings with him over 16 years of special education experience to oversee the Early Intervention Program (EI), for children from birth to 3; the Preschool, for children ages 3-5; and the Parent & Early Education Resource Center at Helen Keller Services for the Blind.
Prior to HKSB, Morgan was an Education Specialist at the Teachers College at Columbia University, providing technical assistance and professional development on a variety of topics to families, school districts, and private agencies that have or serve children and youth who are deaf-blind through the New York State Assistance Project Serving Children and Youth Who are Deaf Blind.
A Doctoral Candidate in Special Education Administration and Policy at Teachers College, Columbia University, Morgan has a Master of Arts in Special Education: Mental Retardation and Sensory Impairment from Columbia University. He received an Orientation and Mobility Certificate from the University of Northern Colorado and his Bachelor of Arts in History and Anthropology from Hobart College. Morgan is also fluent in Braille.
Morgan is a peer review of articles for the Journal of Visual Impairment and Blindness and serves as an Adjunct Lecturer on Educational Implications of Deaf/blindness at Hunter College. Since 2001 Morgan has been a trustee at The Baldwin Foundation in Princeton, New Jersey.
