Frank E. Primeggia, Coordinator of Brooklyn Rehabilitation Services

Frank Primeggia brings more than 35 years of experience working with people who are blind, visually impaired and multiply-disabled to his position as Coordinator of Brooklyn Rehabilitation Services for Helen Keller Services for the Blind. Since 2000, Primeggia’s responsibilities have included coordinating and supervising rehabilitation teaching and managing HKSB contracts with the New York State Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped (CBVH). Primeggia has also been involved with The Children’s Saturday Program and Pre-Vocational Training, two programs designed to help children and teens gain self-confidence and develop socialization skills. Additionally, he supervises the Assistive Technology Program for the agency and the Brooklyn Senior Center.

Prior to HKSB, Primeggia worked at CBVH as the Assistant to the Downstate Regional Coordinator where he was responsible for managing all aspects of local CBVH offices on Long Island and upstate New York. Prior to that, he was an orientation and mobility instructor with CBVH for New York City’s five boroughs and for the Industrial Home for the Blind in the 1970’s (renamed Helen Keller Services for the Blind in 1985).

Primeggia received a Bachelor of Science in education from Concord University. He sits on the advisory board for The Jewish Guild for the Blind’s Diabetic Education Program.
