Geralyn Zuzze, M.P.H., M.A., Director of Government and Foundation Relations
As Director of Government and Foundation Relations, Zuzze is responsible for developing funding proposals for private foundations and for government agencies at the local, state and federal levels. Zuzze is also the agency’s liaison to the United Way for both funding allocations and employee campaigns.
In 1996 Zuzze began her career with HKSB as the Director of the Braille Library in Hempstead, where she forged a strong relationship with the New York State Resource Center for the Visually Impaired. Drawing on her previous business experience, she also implemented a number of operating strategies to streamline and track the production process.
Zuzze has also worked with the American Cancer Society where she designed and implemented a pilot breast-health awareness/outreach program for women with mobility and sensory impairments.
Zuzze received a Master of Public Health from Hunter College, a Master of Arts in Health Advocacy from Sarah Lawrence College, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from SUNY-Buffalo, and a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Hofstra University. Zuzze is also certified in Braille transcription and is a member of the National Braille Association.
